Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

When you think of the dirty south, you think of southern country food and not pizza. But at Damgoode, it's another story.. Damgoode is damright for making Damgoode pies.. first off, you can't go to this pizza joint having the authentic Naples Italian pizza. You have to think of the typical American Chicago style pizza. Let's start off with the Appetizers... The Razorback buns here puts the average normal garlic bread to shame with the added bacon, sharp cheddar, and jalapenos! I couldn't resist eating more than half of the damn order! As for the pizza, I got the mine "Stuffy" style crust. It's two layers of dough that with your selected ingredients in between each layer and topped red sauce at the top layer. You defiantly have to eat the pizza with a knife and fork. Otherwise it would be a big mess with the ingredients gushing out of the pizza!

Just ate there. We had the 14 inch hand tossed with pink sauce, extra cheese, and mushrooms, pepperoni, meatballs on one half. Six PBRs for a dollar each. Tab was 24 and some change. Not bad.

We ordered from the Rodney Parham location on New Year's and the pizza was damgoode, as promised. We "built our own," and were equally impressed with the crust, the freshness of the toppings (and the fact that they're not skimpy), the cheese, and the sauce (we had the hand tossed crust with their pink sauce, mushrooms, tomato, spinach, and roasted garlic). We got a side of the marinara for dipping and it was excellent.

The girls and I like to stop here on the way back from the mall. Always good service And plenty of room at lunch. We get a plain cheese and drinks ($1.00 PBR). For a pizza joint I always enjoy it. Kids love the pizza and it's really good every time. Wish they had one in Conway

Very disappointed. Ordered online, and immediately called to change order to large from medium pizza. Was put on hold for 5 minutes. I hung up and called back again to catch my order before they started it. I was told rudely I had to wait my turn 4 ahead of me, - I again said I wanted to catch my order before they started it. I was left on hold 10 more minutes, order taker comes back on and says I need to pay for a large and a medium because pizza was put in oven. I said that was not my fault, I called to correct the order immediately, and he did not want to listen to what I had to say and there is no way to correct an order online. He said "I'm not going to serve you" and hung up on me. Rude and unprofessional, he and his "manager" should be replaced. I would recommend hiring a higher than redneck class of pizza maker to avoid this problem in future. And better employee training.

I have ate at a lot of local Pizzeria's, and for me, this place beats them all. I have tried some of their pasta and it is pretty good, but I have tried just about every pizza they have, and the ones I have tried I love.
(5)Matthew D.
The original in Hillcrest is a landmark for me, but the Cantrell location has all the flavor as well! The staff is chill and the pizza is hot! Everything on the menu is good, but I prefer their pizza! The Hog Stuffy is worth hanging your Little Rock and Arkansas card on! If you want a good kick try the "pink sauce", because it's awesome! You can't go wrong with anything here! Yeah, this place is among my top favorites in The Rock. My son ate 3 pieces, which is going to be new measurement of goodness!

I really enjoy Damgoode Pies. Ignore the crazy paintings on the walls and the awkward placement of the acoustic foam panels on ceiling (I can't even look at them--not symmetrical and no rhyme or reason to their location)...ignore the dirty chalk wall entryway and just go eat pizza. I am not sure how long Damgoode Pies has been in business, but it has that old school hipster feel...with tattooed boys in capri pants and PBR. I love it all. There are lots of options on the menu--and be sure to have a sense of humor when you read the menu. It's totally smartass, so in my mind, if a place has the balls to print a menu like that, they better back it up with good food. Like I said, lots of options here and I haven't even started on the sauces. Any pizza is available with red, white, alfredo, pesto, or any blend of the above. Thick crust, thin crust, or a 'stuffy', which is two layers of toppings with another crust and sauce on top. This time around, I got a 6" Hawaiian, which seems pretty plain Jane...but it's delicious. My only critique is that they use a lot of pineapple, which makes for a wet crust. The Canadian bacon is fairly thick cut, but not obnoxiously so...gives a lot of flavor. We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, and they are fantastic. A little bit of heat and a great filling. There is almost too much cheese, which I usually never say. Of course I shoveled a forkful of melted cheese in my mouth, and it immediately turned cold and chewy...like Play-Doh. Pretty weird and unappetizing. Great beer choices, good food, and a casual fun place--there were older church folks, young couples, and families with kids in baseball uniforms, so it's a nice spot for anyone.
(4)Mark H.
This is what a pizzaria should smell like, taste like, be like! The beer is cold, the staff is friendly, witty and wonderfully sarcastic. The kids are screaming, the adults are screaming. Don't we all need a good, healthy scream every once in a while? Prudes stay home! Don't need your "Debbie Downer" attitudes changing the great vibe of this one. Frenetic, manic, melodic, zesty, organic and always DAMN GOOD! Another beer, please?!?!
(4)John L.
I can't say anything bad about this place. Possibly the best pizza I have ever had. If you are in the area go to this location.
(5)Leslie W.
We hit this spot downtown during Arkansas Riverfest and it was, without a doubt, the best meal we had all weekend. The Margherita was the best I've ever had and my fiance loved The Hog. Definitely get the hand-tossed crust...it's fantastic!
(5)Andrew I.
The topping selection is amazing. Once of the only places I know (if not the only place) with dill pickles as a topping.
(4)Mark H.
We tried this sit down location pizza place for the 1st time. We saw the pictures on yelp with the sauce on top. I eagerly wanted to try a Chicago style deep dish pizza. So we ordered the stuffy pizza with pink sauce ( the pink sauce saved the pizza) as it turns out it is not a Chicago style it just looked like it. It was actually a thin crust pizza with toppings another thin crust top with sauce on top. The good: the pink sauce was awesome and kinda spicy we loved it. The bad: it was so thin it was kinda crispy and the toppings were barley in there The atmosphere was ok the establishment was a little ran down. It could use a paint job etc. but overall it was ok.
(4)Sara K.
Every time I give this Damgoode a try, I always regret it. The price does not accurately reflect the quality you receive. Yes, the pizzas are better than your average chain pizza restaurants (i.e. Pizza Hut, dominos, etc) but Damgoode is certainly not $30/pizza good. They should consider reevaluating their product quality before they continue their expansion.
(2)Chris H.
Ordered pizza around 5:50pm, was told 45 minutes. It was nearly an hour and 15 minutes. Pizza was lukewarm, but good. Fred bread was excellent even lukewarm. Only received 1 of the 2 drinks we ordered. Driver was polite but didn't say anything about being late or delivering the food at suboptimal temps. Maybe everything is better when you're at the restaurant?
(2)Katie H.
The pizzas and salads are pretty good, but the problem is the glacial speed of service. Don't go unless you have at least an hour and a half to spend here.
(3)Timothy J.
Spartan interior, too noisy, and with televisions too prominent. (I admit, this is a wholly personal peeve: unless you're with people you don't like, why would you want to watch television during your meal? but why would you ask people you don't like to go to dinner with you in the first place? so why on earth should any restaurant except a sports bar have a television in it?) But the pizzas are flavorful and tossed just right--with three crust options, outstanding and unique topping combinations, and the best range of sauces I've seen anywhere (on a color-wheel-type chart, no less). Little Rock isn't exactly a sought-after spot for the discriminating pizza palate (or for anything else that I can tell, for that matter, but that's an entirely different issue), but--if you're here already and you're craving some crust and sauce--this is indeed a damgoode pizza pie. If you're in a particularly cheesy mood and you don't mind a bit of cayenne kick, the spicy five-cheese pizza on the stuffed crust perfectly balances pleasantly-stretchy and thickly-layered with not-overly-oily and very filling.
(3)El T.
The name gave me a false inkling of things to come. My coworker order several for a meeting and I tried each different style and found one thing in common among them. Generic crust, barley there sauce and plenty of grease and it was pricey. There are better pizza places around town that give you value (and taste).
(2)Summer T.
This is the best pizza place in Little Rock! Several types of crust including a "stuffie" and several variety of sauce! The cheese bread is amazing and I haven't tried a pizza I didn't like! Fun atmosphere and $1pbrs! Lunch specials are usually a personal pizza drink and salad for less than $10.
(5)Tori T.
I think I'm one of the rare folks that actually prefers this location to the Hillcrest one. It's more spacious, the service is quicker, and you don't have to wait for 45 minutes, outside in the heat, to get a table. As far as the food goes, Damgoode lives up to it's name (and that's coming from a Northeasterner... we're very picky about our pizza. Damgoode is not NY Style, by any means, but it's positively delicious.) Also, try the Vidalia Onion Vinaigrette. I've been attempting to locate one that tastes as good for years now, to no avail.
(5)Jai S.
After reading all the reviews about this place, I felt pretty good about eating here. Well everyone's good isn't always best. The staff was incredibly nice. The young lady said it would take about an hour for delivery. She was correct about the time....that was the best part of the meal. The pizza wasn't very good at all!! I would compare this pizza to Diminios or Little Cesar's. The pizza was not worth 20 bucks!! The crust was dry, the toppings weren't very good at all. Also, it wasn't very hot at all. I guess I'm just gonna have to try other places and Make my own descisions about what's good and what's not!!! I would however, like to again thank the staff for their very professional attitudes!! Cordially, This ain't even close to Chicago pizza

The mister and I were at a loss on where to feed some friends who were roadtripping through town on their way to their Memorial Day festivities, but we figured Yelp'd never steered us wrong, and decided to go here. We were not disappointed! Thanks Yelpers! I'm not much of a beer drinker but my companions had a pretty good time with their offerings. Sadly we didn't see the $1.75 champagne a previous yelper mentioned. Overwhelmed by the sauce wheel? We definitely were, so we ordered the bread sampler to try to narrow it down. The pesto cream and pink sauces was pretty good, but the spicy white sauce is just dreamy. *sigh* Just give me a Tiger Beat pinup of that sauce, I'll kiss it goodnight, every night. Having 4 people in our party, we went with 4 pies; A Hog (pink), an Underdog (pink), the B.S.T. (spicy Alfredo) and an Artie with spicy white, all on hand-tossed. I shouldn't eat cheese, but these were totally all worth the cheese nightmares. I don't even like olives, but they set off the Underdog so perfectly. And Spicy White x Artie is almost my OTP. ALMOST. Now that I have an idea of how their sauces are, I think I'll build my own pizza next time. It'll be downright obscene.

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and found tables right away. We had a pizza and some breadsticks. Both exceeded our expectations we had a very attentive server. He had a good chat about the awful Motel we chose to stay in but that's Okay live and learn! We'll be coming back on our next trip to AR!
(5)Mark N.
This was a great place. We decided to come here because of the positive reviews and did these reviewers ever get this one right. This is one of those places you can tell all the locals attend because of their great pizza and great prices. The Fred Bread is a delicious rendition of bruschetta served with a marinara sauce that went the slightest bit overboard on the oregano (still very good). The Margie pizza was very good as well. We added shrimp to this pizza and it made it all the better. And the added shrimp costed only 50 cents! I am a big fan of the create your own pie. I opted for Canadian Bacon with red bell peppers, mushrooms, roasted garlic, jalapenos, and Ricotta cheese. It was a great pizza. You also can not beat $1.00 Pabst Blue Ribbons! You will not regret giving Damgoode Pies a chance.
(5)Tori W.
Road-tripping though Little Rock and relied on my trusty Yelp app to give me the highest rated, 1-to-2 dollar sign dining establishments in Little Rock. Yelp app fail! First of all, the place is like a sports bar version of Pizza Hut. It is not a nice restaurant in the least. It was full of loud kids and the egg crate foam placed randomly and unattractively on the ceiling did nothing to quiten the place. The service was average. The food was probably a little better than Pizza Hut, but mostly because the pizza crust was really good- soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. The pizza itself, crust aside, was average. And the prices were average. Overall, AVERAGE!
(3)CecilHillcrest W.
If anyone is an ol school resident of Hillcrest you may recall what used in the building b4 Damngood-and if you can't recall there's a reason why-Bc the place B4 was not worth remembering...Things changed when Damgoode came along From the first bite you can taste the passion of making a delicious pie-is it the fresh ingredients? Could it be the Homemade dough recipe? Hmmmm... Maybe by the third bite you are wondering what took you so long to try a Damgoode Pie And to those who question the Service aspect of this place First of all it's a PIZZA PLACE- Sit back-relax-order a beer-enjoy your pie
(5)Charlee W.
YUM!! The mild wings were flavored perfectly! Loved that they came with Ranch and the peppers instead of celery was a nice touch. The Hog pizza hand-tossed as well as a custom one that we made with the pesto sauce were both very tasty. The plain cheesecake was VERY creamy and honestly some of the best I've had. They serve champagne for $1.75 a glass. Does this place get any better? It was indeed, Damgoode! ;)
(4)J J.
Amazing pizza!
(4)Hiren P.
Had the garden supreme. Excellent crust and excellent pizza. Was pleasantly surprised. Even my friends who eat meat thought my garden was better.
(4)Johnny A.
Too slow for a workday lunch but otherwise spectacular. Stuffy Hog is a wonderful pizza, try it with pink sauce if you like garlic and spicy.
(4)Brittany K.
Damgoode pies is... Damn good. I've lived in LR for 2 years now and I've always been told that this is the best place to get pizza, but I just hadn't had the chance to get out there yet (Hubby is not a pizza fan:() So when a gf suggested pizza for lunch I jumped on the chance to try Damgoode. The place is a bit of a dive... dingy, very much a local haunt. But the atmosphere didn't bother me, I enjoy a good dive. The only difficult part was deciding what to order- EVERYTHING on the menu looked good! I finally setlled on getting the lunch special- $6.99 for a drink, a caesar salad, and a 6 in pizza. I was stuck between several pizza choices but the server suggested I try the BST- bacon, spinach, and tomato. My girlfriend ordered "the hog" which is basically every kind of pig- bacon, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, sausage. The pizzas were excellent, fresh ingredients, delicious crust, just perfect. One of my favorite pizzas I've ever had. Going to definitely drag the hubby back there ASAP, it's excellent.

I've been a DamGood customer for about 10 years now. I first came across them when they were in that tiny 2-story space in Hillcrest. they are still making DamGood pizzas all these years later. My preferences have changed over the years though. I used to really like their chicago-style stuffed crust pizza with 1/2 white sauce, and 1/2 red sauce. Now I'm more interested in their traditional crust. the bread for their pies is outstanding, and their ingredients are always fresh. I dunno why someone knocked the beer selection (I am a former homebrewer and brewmaster for a commercial enterprise), I thought it was well above average...certainly not on par with a place like Flying Saucer though. Can't expect too much from a pizza joint in central arkansas. the facility was a bit dingy, and dark, as one would expect from a restaurant that is focused on food and casual atmosphere. but I found neither extreme enough to be bothersome. this is a great local establishment, and my wife and I will be back many times in the future.
(4)Bryan S.
Chuck E. Cheese had his birthday here! My wife and I were frustrated with what we felt to be a lack of good restaurants in Little Rock, so when we stumbled across Damgoode Pies, it was a relief just to sit down and have a pizza. They don't specialize in thin crust or deep dish. Instead, they have an array of sauces, seven alternatives to the traditional red sauce, I believe. We ordered the bread sticks which allowed us to try four of their sauces, and all of them were great. I think my favorites were the garlic sauce, and the pesto sauce. If you're in Little Rock and you wonder how you got there, Damgoode Pies will make you feel at home!
(4)Bobby G.
I can think of 4 reasons why Damgoode is damn good. 1. Fred Bread - french bread with pesto, tomato and mozzarella 2. $1 PBR 3. Funky Chicken/Hawg - my two favorite of their signature pies 4. B.A. - this incredible pasta dish I'm repeat customer to both Heights and Hillcrest. Heights is easier to get a table and more family friendly. The style at both are laid back, friendly and worthwhile. The menu has so many great items it's hard not to find something you like. Did I mention $1 PBRs. And they deliver.
(5)Andrew B.
Truly great pizza and friendly service. Best pizza I have eaten in Little Rock!
(5)Becca T.
Incredible. Love that you can design your own pizza. I usually get the 6", stuffy, pink sauce, spinach, roasted garlic, and shrimp. Went last night and got 6", thin, supreme (no mushrooms). We split the large chef salad and we got Fred Bread as an appetizer. Everything was very good. Love it!!!
(5)Ramona C.
Went to Damgoode Pies with my family tonight. We really enjoyed it. The cheese bread was awesome. The service was great, and the atmosphere was nice. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone. I will definitely return! Next on my list of dishes to try: a Damgoode salad.
(5)Jennifer H.
Great pizza! Wish I could be eating an Underdog Stuffy right now, BUT... I live less than 1.5 miles from closest location & 3.6 miles from furthest, but when I called for delivery tonight, they said they do not deliver "south of 630". I could appreciate if there was a defined radius, but that phrase (in LR parlance) often refers to our city's less wealthy area. I'd hate to think they've decided against serving a large segment of the community based on a presumption that people that live in my area can't afford to be good customers. Given the close proximity to all locations, though, this policy is, at best, ill considered. At worst? I would have appreciated the option, even, of paying a delivery surcharge. If they must be so discriminate, I wish they'd at least take advantage of me for an additional financial gain. I love thier pizza enough that I'd pay a delivery charge that someone in the Heights didn't have to pay, just to get that nom za. Please use me. Please abuse me. Please take advantage of my laziness & love for your pie. Please... PLEASE don't leave me picking between Pizza Hut delivery & cooking my own food.
(2)Amber L.
Nothing to complain about here. A+ for creativity and choices. Typically order pizza, but on the rare occasion I have ordered the pasta, it was good. Love the selection of sauces, toppings, and crusts.
(4)Heather C.
I am a ridiculous Damgoode fan. I mean, I've eaten a lot of pizza in my time, but wow. I've been eating at Damgoode for 6 years and from the first time I walked in the door, I've had nothing but amazing food and great service! Fred bread is my favorite thing ever, and I could probably eat it every day for the rest of my life. :) Now if they could just head north and start sharing their amazing pizza with the top part of the state...
(5)Kelly K.
Best pizza in Arkansas, PERIOD. This place has SO MANY different options for sauces and toppings; it's crazy! I can nearly eat something different each time and never be disappointed. They absolutely have the best salads, as well, and they're appetizer breads are fabulous! All of the ingredients are fresh and it shows. My favorite sauce is tomato basil, which is a mixture of the traditional red sauce and pesto sauce. I ALWAYS get the stuff crust pizza, which is an authentic Chicago-style deep dish pizza. It's TOTALLY worth the extra couple of bucks to make it a stuffy. My absolute favorite salad dressing ever is served here; Vidalia Onion Vinigarette. I've never had a problem with service; everyone's cool and easy-going. It's a great place to go and drink for cheap ($1 PBRs!) and eat until you're full on great food.
(5)Elizabeth C.
Amazing. This is the best place to get pizza in Little Rock.
(5)Chris V.
This place is amazing -- Every time I've been to the Little Rock area, I've made it a point to drive out and experience Damgoode Pies. The service is great and the pizza is truly "5 star". It's definitely one of those out of the way spots with a real 'local hangout' feel, but I've never felt any attitude there at all; it's very welcoming. If you're ever anywhere within a hundred miles of Little Rock, you won't be sorry for making the trip -- throughout several years of visits there, I never once had anything but spectacular quality, "damgoode pies".
(5)Denise S.
Love this place, I always make it a point to stop in when I am in town from Dallas. The thin crust is amazing and you can't beat the lunch special for $6
(4)Nicolle M.
I've only ordered 'delivery' but have not been disappointed yet. Have ordered sandwiches and dessert.....delivery is usually on time. Yet once it took longer and they graciously gave me a discount on my delivery. Good food...will keep ordering when in town.
(3)Brett M.
This place makes delicious pizza. We stopped by on our drive across the country and wanted something more than the run of the mill pizza joint. We weren't disappointed. If you are in Little Rock, you should eat here We only trued take-out, so I can't vouchfor the the service upsta
(4)John L.
look if your in little rock and even considering pizza you need to go to damgoode. get a stuffy and enjoy yourself. if you have a choice, go to the hillcrest location -- great atmosphere.
(5)Julie A.
Best pizza in Little Rock... The pink sauce on a stuffy pie is amazing!
(5)Crystal C.
Love to do the make your own thing with thin crust and pesto sauce and artichokes and feta cheese and roasted garlic. YUMMM ! And I love to sit on the patio at the one on Cantrell. Very chill atmosphere, cool folks, good service.
(5)Natalie A.
Definitely my favorite pizza in the central Arkansas area. Creative, yet not gimmicky, menu options ranging from signature pizzas to salads & pastas. You can choose traditional red sauce, spicy white alfredo sauce, or a combination of the two (and my favorite), the pink sauce. You can also layer one of these sauces over angel hair or fettuccine and add whatever toppings you choose for some amazing pasta. Love the atmosphere, and the better-than-average beer selection!
(5)PAM S.
I've been looking for a good pizza place since we moved to Arkansas and this place is pretty darn good. The pizza had just the right among of ingredients, sauce was just right. I had the regular crust, nice & chewy and my husband had the crispy crust. The service was fast and friendly. We were greeting coming in and going out. You get the feeling that they really appreciate your business. They must be doing something right to have stayed in business this long. Little Rock's food businesses don't last long if they aren't good.
(4)Frank M.
Great Pizza. The joke's on you if you don't go....
(5)Andrew H.
I absolutely love the pizza here. Better than just about anywhere else I've been to eat pizza. The toppings that they have are just amazing and some are quite unique. I absolutely love everything that they serve there. It's absolutely delicious.
(5)Chaz B.
I travel a lot and nothing's worse than hoping for a good pizza and getting donged. This isn't the best pizza I've ever had but it is far better than most. Most importantly they made it exactly how I ordered and a very fair price. I wish there was pizza this good where I live. Thanks Damgoode
(4)Victor R.
Great pizza, especially if you like a thin crispy crust. Other crust options are available including New York style thin and Chicago style stuffed. All options looked great. Very interesting topping choices. The only downside was that it was a little loud to carry on an enjoyable conversation and the draft beer is only available in 12 oz mugs. $3.50 for a mug of Blue Moon is a tad bit high.
(4)Peter M.
Good price, not too busy on a Sunday evening. Service was ok. Pizza... well... being a pizza junkie from Chicago, I have an unfair advantage (or would it be disadvantage???) when it comes to pizza tastings across the country. The cheese was a bit salty, the sauce a little tangy, and the hand-tossed crust was a little gummy. All in all, ok. I would not rush back, but if someone asked me to go back I wouldn't run from it either.
